About Property Safety Scotland
Property Safety Scotland is a free matching service. We help landlords, letting agents and homeowners in Scotland find local specialists for safety checks, and we don't carry out any of the work ourselves.
Why the site exists
A Scottish landlord can need an electrician, a gas engineer, an EPC assessor and someone for the legionella assessment, all on different timetables. Finding each one separately takes time, and the rules behind them are spread across several government websites.
So the site does two things. It sets out the rules in plain English, with every fact linked to the official page it came from. And it lets you ask for quotes for every check you need with one form.
What we will and won't do
- We pass each type of check to one suitable specialist covering your area, never a list of firms.
- We don't charge you anything.
- We don't take enquiries from tenants or pass tenants' details to anyone. Tenants get a page explaining their rights instead.
- We don't publish reviews or ratings, and we don't claim experience we don't have.
- We don't give legal advice. Our pages summarise official guidance and link to it.
How we're paid
Specialists may pay us for enquiries in the areas they cover. You pay nothing, and that arrangement doesn't change the price you're quoted.

From official sources: gov.scot, mygov.scot, HSE and council websites. Each page lists its sources and the month they were last checked.
