Who we are

Property Safety Scotland is a free matching service run by Ajay Singh, trading as Property Safety Scotland (sole trader), 142 Renfrew Road, Paisley, PA3 4BN. We are the data controller for the information you give us through this website. Our ICO registration number is ZC284176.

What we collect

When you send an enquiry we collect what you put in the form:

• whether you're a landlord, letting agent or homeowner
• the checks you need
• details about the property: number of properties, property type, bedrooms, postcode, and how soon you need the work
• your name and email address, and your phone number if you give it
• anything you write in the message box
• that you ticked the consent box, and the page you sent the form from

If you tell us you're a tenant, the form doesn't send anything. If a tenant's details reach us some other way, we delete them and don't pass them on.

Why we collect it, and our lawful basis

We use your details to pass your enquiry to a suitable local specialist for each type of check you ticked, so they can contact you about a quote. Our lawful basis is your consent, given when you tick the box on the form. You can withdraw it at any time by emailing us; that stops us sharing your details from then on but doesn't undo anything already shared.

Who we share it with

We share your enquiry with one specialist for each type of check you ticked, covering your postcode. Once they have it, they're responsible for how they use it, under their own privacy notice. We don't sell your details or share them with anyone else.

Our website and form run on Cloudflare, which receives the form and emails each enquiry to our inbox using Cloudflare's email routing. Cloudflare may process data outside the UK under appropriate safeguards.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for up to 12 months, then delete them. We may keep a count of enquiries, with no personal details, to see how the service is used.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email enquiries@propertysafetyscotland.co.uk and we'll reply within one month. If we've already passed your enquiry to a specialist, we'll tell you who, so you can contact them too.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.

Cookies and analytics

This site doesn't set cookies. If we turn on Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views, it doesn't use cookies or store anything on your device, and it doesn't track you across other websites.
